We worked with Art Hoffstrom Builders for a major remodeling project, involving re-doing the exterior walls, a new roof, extensive drainage and concrete work, paint and other details.
The trades and subs he brought to the project did a fantastic work: plumbers, electrical, painters, concrete, stucco, etc., all but two: the roof sub and some interior work on our previously damaged living room wood floor. The roof is good, but the company that did the roof was unpleasant and we had to call on bad details (like nails showing and such). Their business manners were not at all up to the high standards of the rest of the subs.
Art’s secretary, Melissa, was very helpful and stayed in touch permanently, and helped going through some glitches, unavoidable during construction work. She kept a keen and attentive eye on things, and was patient and understanding.
You have to keep an eye, so things stay in budget, and be very clear about what you want. The time of the remodeling extended beyond the given timeline, for different reasons.
The work done looks and feels solid, and problems we had with the house are no more there, so Art delivered.
